I am fascinated by the simplicity that underlies the enormous diversity of species in nature: the genetic code made up of 4 elements.

This diversity makes it almost impossible for different species to understand each other. A Babylonian confusion of tongues…

In this series I use the genetic code to create diverse images.

Organic Memories

The Organic Memories series is inspired by plants that grow along roads. As we drive past, we see the green areas dotted with colored flowers. Zooming in reveals an enormous wealth of shapes and colors.

Emptyscapes

When traveling, it is striking how difficult it is to find landscapes where human influence is not visible. Walking through empty landscapes I try to portray the emptiness and yet reveal something of human influence. The photos result in the ever-expanding series of Emptyscapes.
